Dr. Isaura Wayop is a Researcher in the Department of Biomolecular Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University. Her work focuses on antimicrobial stewardship and guideline implementation to combat antimicrobial resistance in veterinary practice, with emphasis on animal health and One Health frameworks.

Her research integrates behavioral science with veterinary medicine to develop interventions that reduce antimicrobial use on farms, notably through the VET-ENHANCE project which successfully decreased antimicrobial consumption in pig farming. Current efforts include co-leading EU-JAMRAI 2 Task 6.2 on antimicrobial stewardship in animal health, advancing policy-relevant solutions across European institutions.
Dr. Wayop actively shapes veterinary education as lecturer and coordinator of the Tropical Animal Health course. She previously served on a Ministry of Agriculture (LNV)-commissioned committee evaluating Dutch veterinary quality standards and continues to bridge research with practical applications through guideline development projects for both human and veterinary medical professionals.
