Prof. Dr. Isabella Proeller holds the Chair of Public and Nonprofit Management at the University of Potsdam. Her research focuses on strategic management in public administration, administrative reform, performance management, and international comparative public management.
She serves as spokesperson for the Potsdam Center for Politics and Management and deputy spokesperson for the DFG Research Training Group WIPCAD (Wicked Problems, Contested Administration). A qualified business economist and lawyer, she previously studied at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and ESCP Paris, completing master's degrees in Business Administration and Law, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy.
Her research examines governance structures and leadership mechanisms across public sector organizations, with particular emphasis on cross-national administrative reforms. She bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in public management, investigating how institutions adapt to political and social changes.
Prof. Proeller supervises Bachelor's and Master's theses through Moodle and maintains consultation hours via phone/video. She has served on editorial boards of multiple public administration journals and held leadership roles in the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) and International Research Society on Public Management (IRSPM).
