Isabel Estrada Vaquero is an Associate Professor in Innovation & Strategy at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen (UG). She holds the role of Director of the MSc Business Administration program and is affiliated with the FEBRI Research Institute. Her research focuses on collaborative innovation, interorganizational governance, and strategic alliances, particularly in contexts involving competitors (coopetition), multi-partner R&D consortia, and public-private partnerships.
Education:
- PhD in Strategic Management (University of Valladolid, 2012)
- Recipient of the Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award (2012–2013)
Research Interests:
Her work explores how firms navigate complex collaboration dynamics to achieve value creation, especially in high-tension settings like alliances between competitors. She examines governance mechanisms, knowledge transfer, and the strategic implications of partner changes in alliances. Her research has been published in top journals such as Research Policy and Long Range Planning.
