Isa Norvell Gustavsson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Epidemiology and Global Health, Umeå University. Her research focuses on public health science with interdisciplinary influences from sociology and social work, particularly addressing young people not in education, employment, or training (NEET). She explores how social norms shape work behaviors and societal welfare systems, emphasizing support mechanisms for marginalized youth.
Her research interests span social norms in working life, welfare system structures, sickness absence prevention, and psychosocial work environments. She supervises master’s and medical students, integrating teaching on health promotion and public health.
Current projects include evaluating community-based initiatives for NEET youth (2021–2025). Her work bridges theory and practice, analyzing how institutional and societal factors influence health outcomes and labor market inclusion.
