Dr. Iryna Pentina is a Professor in the Department of Marketing & International Business at the University of Toledo, affiliated with the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing (University of North Texas) and a Ph.D. in Education (Kharkov State Pedagogical University). Her research focuses on digital marketing, consumer behavior, AI in marketing, and sustainability communications. She has been a visiting scholar at institutions like the University of La Rochelle (France) and has received numerous grants and awards, including the Wiley Top Cited Article and Fulbright Specialist recognition. Dr. Pentina founded the UT Interactive Marketing Initiative and has advised over a dozen graduate students.
Her research explores topics like AI-driven consumer interactions, chatbot psychology, and the ethical implications of emerging technologies. Recent work includes studies on ChatGPT's impact on academic misconduct and consumer dependency on social chatbots. She has published extensively in journals such as Psychology & Marketing, Computers in Human Behavior, and Journal of Advertising.
