Iris Ji

Iris Ji is a Research Fellow at the Andrew & Virginia Rudd Centre within the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. Her work supports research activities including developing research objectives, performing quantitative analyses, and disseminating findings for projects focused on family psychology, child development, and mental well-being using longitudinal cohort studies.

Her educational background includes:

• MSc in Psychology in Education from University of York (2017-2018)
• Dual Bachelor's Degrees (BSc Physical Geography and Environmental Science/BA Education) from Beijing Normal University (2013-2017)

Dr. Ji investigates how family processes, psychosocial factors, environmental elements (including greenspace), and biological mechanisms influence young people's mental health. Her research employs causal inference methods to study intergenerational transmission of loneliness and mental health problems, with applications for preventative interventions and policy development. Current projects include the Andrew & Virginia Rudd Research Programme on Family Psychology and the University of Cambridge-KPMG partnership on workplace mental wellbeing.

At Cambridge, Dr. Ji supervises undergraduate Education Tripos students for courses on child development and dissertations. Her work at the Rudd Centre emphasizes translating research into professional practice through policy recommendations and preventative intervention programmes, with a focus on quantitative analysis of longitudinal datasets.
