Irina Abramenko is a Leading Expert at HSE University's Institute for Public Administration and Governance and Center of Interdisciplinary Research, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities since 2018. She teaches Persian language and literature courses for the Asian and African Studies program, specializing in advanced linguistic instruction and cultural analysis.
She earned her degree from St Petersburg State University in 1995, with language proficiencies in Persian and English.
Her research centers on Persian language pedagogy, modern Iranian poetry, and Iran's cultural history, particularly song traditions and literary responses to historical events like World War II. She examines how poets such as Shakhriyar and Fereydoon Moshiri navigate national identity through verse, integrating archival research with linguistic scholarship.
