Dr. Irfan Safdar is an Associate Professor at Widener University's School of Business Administration, affiliated with programs in Accounting (BSBA), Business Administration (MBA), and dual-degree clinical psychology/business tracks. He holds a PhD in Accounting from Texas A&M University, an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester, and advanced degrees in Applied Economics, Finance, and Physics from multiple institutions.
His research focuses on capital markets, particularly how accounting information relates to firm value and stock price dynamics. He has published in journals such as The British Accounting Review, Management Science, and Accounting and Finance. Recent work explores investor superstition's macroeconomic impacts, profitability-return linkages, and financial statement comparability.
