Irfan Alan is a Professor in the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Abdullah Gül University (AGU). He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Istanbul Technical University (1983, 1986) and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1993). Currently serving as Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Director of AGU's Graduate School of Engineering and Sciences, he has held significant academic and administrative roles across institutions, including Ege University where he spent 16 years advancing to full Professorship.
His research focuses on

- Power Electronic Converters
- Induction Heating
- Smart Grid Systems
He has supervised numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, contributed to international/national projects as principal investigator, and held editorial/reviewer roles in academic journals. Additional achievements include
