معرفی
Mehmet ŞAHİN is an Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering, Abdullah Gul University (AGU). Previously, he held academic positions at Selcuk University, including Associate Professor (2009–2012) and Assistant Professor (2006–2009). He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Selcuk University (2005), focusing on semiconductor quantum dot structures, under Prof. Mehmet TOMAK. His postdoctoral research included stints at Bilkent University and the University of Sheffield.
His research spans theoretical and experimental studies of quantum dots, semiconductor nanotechnology, and numerical methods. Key interests include electronic/optical properties of quantum dot heterostructures, exciton dynamics, and computational modeling. Projects include investigating multi-shell quantum dots and their applications in optoelectronics, supported by TÜBİTAK and university grants.
Dr. ŞAHİN has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles (h-index 17/SCI, 19/Google Scholar) and contributed to conferences globally. He has taught advanced physics courses and supervised numerous students at Selcuk University. Administrative roles include Director of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at AGU (2012–2013) and Head of the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering Department. He actively referees for journals like Journal of Applied Physics and Optics Express.
