Irene Ktori is a PhD candidate in Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh and an external associate teacher at the University of Bristol's School of Management.

Her research centers on the political economy of welfare states, discourse framing in family policies, and nationalist conditions. Specifically, she analyzes how Hungary's Fidesz government uses family policy to institutionalize neoconservative gender norms through employment leave policies and tax allowances that enforce traditional nuclear family structures. Her historical discourse analysis examines the normalization of policies positioning women as homemakers and men as breadwinners.
Professionally, she has experience as a mortgage advisor and third-sector researcher. She also teaches business courses at Bristol and runs a free English language program for Spanish-speaking women to support their financial independence and self-advocacy.
