معرفی
Iredia Iyamu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. She directs research focused on developing chemical probes for disease targets with applications in drug discovery and target validation.
Education:
- PhD in Chemistry, Northeastern University (2016)
- MSc in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, University of Benin (2009)
- BSc in Industrial Chemistry, Ambrose Alli University (2004)
Research Focus: Her laboratory develops chemical probes for disease targets using high-throughput screening and fragment-based lead discovery. Research areas include nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) inhibitors, protein arginine methyltransferase inhibitors, and TRIP8b-HCN interaction modulators. Current projects explore bisubstrate inhibitors for improved selectivity in epigenetic regulation.
Publication Trends: Recent articles demonstrate expertise in enzyme inhibitor design with emphasis on structure-activity relationships, chemoproteomic validation, and cell-potent chemical probes. Work frequently appears in medicinal chemistry and biochemistry journals.
