Ira Solomatina

Ira Solomatina is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, affiliated with the ERC-funded SMALL PLATFORMS project led by Prof. Sahana Udupa. She completed her PhD at the School of Cultural Analysis, University of Amsterdam, focusing on representations of politics and gender in women’s fashion media across India, Russia, and the USA.

Her research examines how media shapes gender performances, the political implications of online affective patterns, and the dynamics of online misogyny. She has published in Feminist Media Studies and the European Journal of Cultural Studies. Her work bridges interdisciplinary approaches in media studies, political science, and digital humanities.

As part of the SMALL PLATFORMS project, she investigates the role of digital platforms in structuring political discourse and cultural production, particularly focusing on gendered and affective dimensions of online interactions.
