Iolanda Plescia is an Associate Professor of English at the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies, Sapienza University of Rome. She serves as director of the international MA programme in English and Anglo-American Studies and was Visiting Professor at University College Dublin (2022). Her academic leadership includes presidency of the Italian Association of Shakespearean and Early Modern Studies (2021-2024) and membership in CUN (National University Council) since 2024.

Research Focus: Shakespeare's language and style, history of English, literary/translation studies (early modern and 20th century), intersections between literary and scientific texts in early modern England. Recent work examines textual mobility in early modern science and cultural translation.
