معرفی
Ioannis Spyrou is a Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) and the Division of Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology (KKF) within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. His primary research focuses on the Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) stress response and its role in diseases such as metabolic syndrome and protein misfolding disorders. He explores diagnostic and therapeutic approaches targeting ER stress pathways.
Key areas of expertise include molecular mechanisms of disease pathology, clinical pharmacology, and translational medicine. Recent work investigates the deregulation of protease families in autoimmune diseases (e.g., Sjogren's Syndrome) and biochemical responses to cardiac ablation therapies.
Prof. Spyrou collaborates across disciplines, contributing to both basic science and clinical applications. His publications span immunology, cardiology, and molecular biology, emphasizing translational research. He holds a central role in the Division of Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology, advancing education and research in anesthesiology, clinical chemistry, and forensic sciences.
