Ioannis Sofokleous

Ioannis Sofokleous is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Water Division of the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) at The Cyprus Institute, joining in November 2023. He holds a PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences from The Cyprus Institute (2023).

• Land surface modelling
• Climate change impacts on hydrological cycle

His work integrates atmospheric and hydrological processes to study water resource sustainability in the Mediterranean, particularly Cyprus.

He is engaged in field research through eco-hydrological observatories, which provide critical data for modeling and analysis. His current projects aim to inform adaptation strategies for water management under climate change.
