Filippos Tymvios

Filippos Tymvios is affiliated with the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) at The Cyprus Institute while maintaining his primary role as Head of the Aeronautical and Synoptic Section at the Cyprus Department of Meteorology.

His academic credentials include:

• PhD in Solar Radiation Modeling (2007) from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
• MSc in Environmental Physics (1998) from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
• MSc in Public Sector Management (2012) from CIIM

His research spans neural network modeling, numerical weather prediction, solar radiation, and climatic change, focusing on advancing meteorological forecasting systems and climate impact analysis through computational approaches. These interdisciplinary interests bridge atmospheric science, machine learning, and environmental physics to address critical weather and climate challenges in the Mediterranean region.
