George K. Georgiou is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Environmental Predictions Department (EPD) within the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) at The Cyprus Institute, since July 2020. His role focuses on regional air quality modeling. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and an MSc in Environmental Physics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He earned his PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences from The Cyprus Institute in 2020, with a thesis titled “Air Quality Modelling over Cyprus.”

His research interests include regional air quality modeling, air quality forecasting, and anthropogenic emission inventories. During his PhD, he contributed to the META-Sat project funded by the European Space Agency as a Research Technical Specialist. His work bridges advanced atmospheric modeling with practical applications in environmental policy and climate research.
