George K. Georgiou is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Environmental Predictions Department (EPD) within the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) at The Cyprus Institute, since July 2020. His role focuses on regional air quality modeling. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and an MSc in Environmental Physics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He earned his PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences from The Cyprus Institute in 2020, with a thesis titled “Air Quality Modelling over Cyprus.”

His research interests include regional air quality modeling, air quality forecasting, and anthropogenic emission inventories. His work bridges advanced atmospheric modeling with practical applications in environmental policy and climate research.
