Inke Nyborg is an Academic Associate at the University of Zurich's Department of Finance, affiliated with the Faculty of Economics. She holds a PhD in Banking & Finance (University of Zurich, 2019), MA in London Studies (Birkbeck College, 2005), and BSc in Economics (Queen Mary University of London, 1994). Her roles include Managing Director of the Center of Competence for Sustainable Finance (since 2021), BHRICO Programme Director at the Centre for Human Rights Studies (2019), and Administrator at the URPP Financial Regulation (since 2016).
Her research focuses on financial regulation, systemic risk, and the historical evolution of banking systems. Notable work includes studies on 19th-century Swiss monetary systems, liquidity creation mechanisms, and crisis management strategies for large financial institutions. Nyborg has contributed to policy discussions through her publications and presentations at international conferences such as the 38th Economics Conference in Vienna (2010).
Her professional experience spans roles at the Bank of England (1994-2002), the Norwegian School of Economics (2007-2009), and the Swiss Banking Institute (since 2009). She currently leads initiatives in sustainable finance and financial regulation at the University of Zurich.
