Ingrid Van Bremen is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the School of Design, University of Western Australia, with a career spanning over three decades. Her affiliations include the UWA School of Architecture (1987-2018) and the Design School. She specializes in architectural history and conservation, contributing to global heritage preservation efforts.
Education:
- BArch (Hons), University of Western Australia, 1984
- PhD, University of Western Australia, 1990 (thesis: New Architecture of the Gold Boom in WA - Government Buildings under GT Poole, 1885-1897)
Research Interests: Her work focuses on the history of architectural design and construction in Western Australia, the philosophy of conservation, and sustainable development goals aligned with heritage preservation. Current projects include a survey of lime use in WA conservation, a database of traditional paint colors, and research on colored finishes for stucco and cement render in WA. She also monitors townscape aspects of new developments in Fremantle and is refining a townscape guide for lectures in the unit ARCT5577 Conservation in Cultural Landscapes.
