Ingrid Jeacle is a Professor of Accounting and Popular Culture at the University of Edinburgh Business School. With a PhD from the University of Limerick and a Master of Arts from Trinity College Dublin, she bridges interdisciplinary research with traditional accounting scholarship. A founding member of the Culture, Accounting & Society (CAS) Research Network, she explores how accounting practices permeate everyday life and popular culture.

Her research focuses on the intersection of accounting and popular culture, examining phenomena like calorie labeling, online reviews, and historical compensation systems. She employs methodologies such as netnography and actor-network theory to analyze how accountability systems shape societal norms.
Recent publications include studies on cinematic portrayals of accountants (2024), calorie accounting in the UK food sector (2023), and historical valuations of human life in slavery abolition (2023). These works reflect her commitment to expanding accounting scholarship into cultural and social domains.
