Ingrid Fankhauser

Ingrid Fankhauser, MA, is a Lecturer in Photography and Coordinator of the Latin America Research Network at the University of Vienna's Institute of Political Science. She holds a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies from the University of Vienna (2012) and has conducted research at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Cuba.

Her research focuses on Cuban art and cultural policy, visual history, media theory, and transdisciplinary photography projects in Latin America. She has extensive experience in photography education, teaching at Colombian universities since 1998 and managing projects for NGOs.

Publications include her 2014 book on contemporary Cuban photography, analyzing the body as a cultural-political symbol. She actively engages in transnational academic networks and public outreach initiatives.
