Inge Groenendijk is a Research Fellow at the Division of Human Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University & Research. Her work focuses on nutritional interventions to improve bone health and recovery in aging populations, particularly after hip fractures. She holds a PhD in Human Nutrition (2023) and currently leads postdoctoral research on protein’s role in bone health during aging.
Education involvement includes teaching courses such as HNE-51806 Interventions for Healthy Ageing in Humans and HNH53303 Designing Nutritional and Lifestyle Interventions. Her research expertise spans osteoporosis, protein metabolism, and cognitive health in elderly populations.
Key projects include the ProBUS study (optimizing post-hip fracture rehabilitation via protein and exercise) and the KneeT-vegan study (examining vegan diets’ effects on knee protein turnover). These projects emphasize translational research linking dietary interventions to clinical outcomes in aging populations.
No scientific awards are listed, though her work contributes to evidence-based nutritional guidelines for older adults. She actively collaborates with international researchers and maintains full-time availability for academic activities.
