Ines Weizman is a Professor of History and Theory of Architecture at the Royal College of Art's School of Architecture, directing the Architecture PhD program. She leads the Centre for Documentary Architecture (CDA), an interdisciplinary collective exploring modernist architecture, colonialism, and migration. Previously, she held professorships at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Her education includes studies at the Bauhaus University Weimar, Ecole d’Architecture de Belleville (Paris), Cambridge University, and the Architectural Association (AA), where she earned a PhD in History and Theory. She taught at institutions like the AA, Goldsmiths, and the Berlage Institute.
Weizman’s research focuses on modernist architecture’s history, colonial contexts, and experimental preservation. Key projects include exhibitions like The Matter of Data and films such as Bauhaus Beeline. Her work bridges documentary methods with architectural theory, addressing topics like migration’s spatial impact and Bauhaus’s global reception.
