Ines Hahn

Ines Hahn is a Research Fellow at the York Biomedical Research Institute, University of York. Her work focuses on understanding microtubule dynamics and cytoskeletal regulation in axonal development and neurodegenerative diseases. Prior to York, she held a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship at the University of Manchester after completing her PhD in Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Bonn and undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Mainz.

Hahn's research explores the interplay between microtubule-associated proteins like Tau and spectraplakins in axonal maintenance. She investigates how disruptions in cytoskeletal organization contribute to neurodegeneration. Her work often employs Drosophila models to study age-related pathological mechanisms.

Recent publications highlight her contributions to understanding microtubule polymerization inhibition by Efa6, combinatorial effects of dipeptide repeats in neurodegeneration, and the role of spectraplakins in axonal growth. These studies span interdisciplinary fields including Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, and Developmental Neurobiology.
