Indishe Senanayake

Indishe Senanayake is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Newcastle's School of Engineering, with PhD in Environmental Engineering. His research applies geospatial technologies to environmental challenges including soil moisture estimation, landform evolution modeling, and mining rehabilitation.

Develops remote sensing methods for high-resolution soil moisture mapping using satellite data and machine learning. Applied work includes rockfall hazard prediction and wetland inundation dynamics analysis supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Awards recognize excellence in scientific communication and publications. Teaches GIS, Remote Sensing, and Spatial Science courses while maintaining research collaborations across Australia and Sri Lanka.
