Impa Somayanda is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University, affiliated with the Davis College. Her research focuses on enhancing crop resilience to abiotic stresses, particularly in sorghum, wheat, and rice. She holds a PhD from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, and has held roles at Kansas State University and the International Rice Research Institute.
