Dr Imelda McCarthy is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Research Fellow at Aston Business School, Aston University. Her research focuses on leadership, organizational change, productivity, and management practices, particularly in microbusinesses and healthcare sectors. She holds a PhD from Aston Business School and has contributed to impactful projects funded by the ESRC, including studies on servitization, microbusiness resilience, and NHS transparency. She previously worked at the University of Sheffield’s Institute of Work Psychology, focusing on healthcare management and Schwartz Rounds.
Education: PhD in Psychology (Aston University), MSc in Work Psychology and Business, PGDip Psychology, BSc (Hons) Psychology and Information Technology. Professional memberships include Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Chartered Occupational Psychologist (BPS).
Her research interests bridge organizational psychology and management, emphasizing practical impacts on productivity and employee wellbeing.
