Ilyoung Ju is an Associate Professor at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in the School of Media & Communication, part of the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on Advertising Effectiveness and Consumer Psychology, with a particular emphasis on nostalgic advertising, influencer marketing, and cross-cultural studies. He teaches courses such as Introduction to Interactive Advertising and Social Media Campaigns.
Dr. Ju holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Mass Communication (Advertising) from the University of Florida and a B.A. in Advertising from Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea.
His research explores topics like the Reminiscence Bump effect in nostalgic advertising, the impact of influencer relationships on advertising effectiveness, and the role of future time perspective in consumer decision-making. He has contributed to journals including the Journal of Advertising and Journal of Interactive Advertising.
Dr. Ju is affiliated with the Global Social Media Influencer Research Lab at BGSU, focusing on advancing understanding of digital media and consumer behavior.
