Ilker Korkmaz

Asst. Prof. Dr. İlker Korkmaz is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at Izmir University of Economics. With a PhD in Information Technologies from Ege University (2012), he has held significant administrative roles including Vice Dean (2022–present) and various committee memberships (Bologna Committee, Transfer Evaluation Committees).

His research focuses on security in wireless sensor networks, network security protocols, and distributed systems. The 2025 article on mushroom classification using machine learning and 2024 medical AI papers demonstrate his expanding interest in healthcare technology applications. Earlier works (2008–2016) established foundational contributions to WSN security, including the influential GTS Attack paper. His best paper award at SENSORCOMM2008 highlights recognition for these contributions.
