Ilker Erdem

Dr. İlker Erdem is an Assistant Professor at Abdullah Gul University, specializing in ceramic membrane technologies and green synthesis of nanomaterials. His research focuses on environmental applications of nanotechnology, materials science, and surface charge characterization of ceramic membranes.

His research spans two key areas: ceramic composite membrane preparation for industrial applications in food, biotechnology, and water purification; and green synthesis of nanomaterials using plant extracts and organic waste for antimicrobial and environmental applications.

Recent publications highlight his work on surface charge modification of titania-zirconia membranes, sol-gel processing techniques, and green synthesis methods. His teaching portfolio includes graduate courses on materials science, nanotechnology, and instrumental analysis, alongside interdisciplinary undergraduate courses on food and health, environmental chemistry, and AGU's societal impact philosophy.
