معرفی
Ilka Kriegel serves as Full Professor in the Department of Applied Science and Technology at Polytechnic of Turin, leading cutting-edge research in nanomaterials for sustainable energy solutions. Her work bridges nanomaterials engineering, nanophysics, and electrochemistry with direct applications toward SDG Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy).
Her research encompasses:
- 2D materials engineering (nanoparticles, heterostructures)
- Nanoelectronics and nanophotonics
- Electrocatalysis for energy conversion
- Photocatalytic materials design
- Sustainable materials synthesis
Current research initiatives include EU-funded projects:
- LEAF (2025-2028) - Self-powered skin for wireless sensors (EIC)
- 2DTWIST (2024-2026) - 2D material actuators (MSCA)
- STORE-LIGHT (2024-2025) - Photoelectrodes for energy storage (ERC)
- Light-DYNAMO (2020-2025) - Hybrid nanocrystal capacitors (ERC)
Her publication portfolio reveals strong trends in electrocatalytic urea synthesis, perovskite nanomaterials, and coupled redox systems for energy efficiency, demonstrating interdisciplinary innovation across chemistry, physics, and engineering domains. She actively supervises six PhD candidates developing next-generation materials for energy transition while teaching Chemistry in the Automotive Engineering program.
