Prof. Iliopoulos Eleftherios is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Crete and an Associated Researcher at IESL-FORTH. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University (2002) and has extensive collaborations with international companies (e.g., Lockheed-Martin, EADS) and organizations (ARPA, ESA). His research focuses on III-Nitride semiconductor heterostructures, optoelectronic devices, and quantum dot-based technologies. He has led two international and one national research projects, authored/co-authored over 80 publications with an h-index of 25, and contributed to the European COST-MP0805 program.

Research Interests: Explores epitaxial growth of semiconductor nanostructures, device development (e.g., quantum dots), and advanced materials for optoelectronics. Engages in interdisciplinary projects with industry and global research networks.

- Member of the CCQCN management committee and EXMATEC workshop steering committee
- Formerly served on the Hellenic “Micro&Nano” board and European COST program
Labs & Teams: Active in the Microelectronics Research Group at IESL-FORTH and the Crete Center for Quantum Complexity and Nanotechnology (CCQCN).
