Ilias Kyriopoulos

Ilias Kyriopoulos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Programme Co-Director of the Executive MSc in Economics, Policy, and Management. He holds a PhD in Health Economics and Policy from LSE and has held visiting research positions, including at Sciences Po (2024). Prior to LSE, he worked as a Health Economist at the Athens School of Public Health and consulted for organizations like the European Commission, OECD, UNDP, and the World Bank.

His research focuses on the interplay between economic uncertainty, policy, and health outcomes, with a particular emphasis on inequalities in health care access, mental health economics, and the socio-economic determinants of well-being. His interdisciplinary work has been published in journals such as Health Economics, Social Science & Medicine, and The Lancet Regional Health – Europe.

Dr. Kyriopoulos has received prestigious awards, including the Onassis Foundation Scholarship and a Greek State Scholarship Foundation award. His teaching includes courses on applied health econometrics, economic evaluation in healthcare, and health policy analysis in low- and middle-income countries. He speaks English, German, and Greek.
