Ildeu Andrade Jr.

Dr. Ildeu Andrade Jr. is an Associate Professor and Clinical Director at the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He previously served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Craniofacial Team at Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and maintained a private practice in Belo Horizonte for over 20 years. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and Brazilian Board of Orthodontics.

• Education: PhD in Cellular Biology (Federal University of Minas Gerais, 2007); Master of Science and Orthodontic Certificate (Marquette University, 2002); DDS (Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, 1995).

His research focuses on clinical and experimental studies in orthodontics, with over 20 years of involvement. He has authored numerous articles and book chapters in dental and medical journals. Awards include the Unilever Hatton Divisional Award (2016) and Wayne G. Watson Award (2013).

He serves as Associate Editor of the Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics and a peer reviewer for multiple periodicals. Active in professional societies, he holds roles in the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontics.
