Igor Shoikhedbrod is an Assistant Professor of Political Theory in the Department of Political Science at St. Francis Xavier University. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto (2018), an M.A. in Political Science from York University (2011), and a B.A. in Ethics, Society, and Law from the University of Toronto.
His research spans political theory, legal theory, ethics, law, political economy, Marxism, liberalism, justice, Soviet legal history, and global financial capitalism. He is the author of Revisiting Marx’s Critique of Liberalism: Rethinking Justice, Legality and Rights (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019) and has published extensively in leading journals including Contemporary Political Theory, History of Political Thought, and The European Journal of Political Theory.

He is currently developing three book projects: an edited volume on Kojève and Law (Routledge), an anthology on Soviet Legal Theory (Brill), and a monograph on global financial capitalism and legal crises.
