معرفی
Igor Denisyuk is a Professor at ITMO University and the Head of the Laboratory of Nonlinear Laser Crystals. He joined ITMO in 2001 as a part-time faculty member and transitioned to full-time in 2006, leading the Faculty of Optics of Quantum Size Systems. His academic credentials include a DSc in Physics and Mathematics (2001) and a PhD in Physics and Mathematics (1989).
- Education: St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University (LETI University, 1979), PhD in Physics and Mathematics (1989), DSc in Physics and Mathematics (2001).
Denisyuk’s research focuses on nanocrystals, nanocomposites, and nonlinear optical materials for applications in holography, terahertz devices, and microlasers. Recent collaborations with Prof. Maya Uspenskaya have expanded his work into biophysics, biomedicine, and photodegradable polymers for next-gen bacterial and fungicidal materials.
- Scientific Awards: Medal of A.A. Lebedev (2010); Expert of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
His CRDF-funded project on holographic materials established a new scientific school at ITMO. Current work includes biophysical and biomedical applications of nanomaterials.
Denisyuk leads the Laboratory of Nonlinear Laser Crystals, advancing terahertz devices and microlasers, while exploring interdisciplinary collaborations in ecology and biomedicine.
