Professor Igor Boiko is affiliated with Khalifa University's College of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering. His research focuses on control theory, robotics, power applications, and nonlinear/discontinuous control systems.
- DSc in Systems, Control, and Informatics (2009) from Higher Attestation Commission of Russia
- PhD in Process Automation Engineering (1990) from Tula State University
- MSc/BSc in Electro-mechanical Engineering (1984) from Tula State University
Dr. Boiko pioneered the Locus of Perturbed Relay Systems (LPRS) method and theories in phase deficit, dynamic harmonic balance, and fractal dynamics. His work spans robotic control, UAV trajectory tracking, and PEM fuel cell modeling.
He collaborates on projects like AI-driven UAV self-characterization and PEM fuel cell control optimization with Prof. Ahmed Al-Durra. His innovations include four US patents in industrial control.
- Stanford-Elsevier Top 2% World Researcher (2019-2021)
Dr. Boiko supervises multiple PhD and MSc students, with co-supervision roles. He teaches courses in Industrial Automation, Adaptive Control, and Discontinuous Control Systems.
He leads research at the KU Center for Autonomous Robotic Systems and has industrial experience in automation at Honeywell, ChevronTexaco, and Syncrude Canada.
