Ido Oren is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Florida, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on International Relations theory, U.S. foreign policy, and the history of political science. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has held visiting positions at institutions in China, Japan, and Austria. Oren has been recognized with awards including the Fulbright Scholar Award and the Teacher of the Year Award. His book Our Enemies and US explores the interplay between American rivalries and the development of political science. He has delivered lectures globally, including at prestigious institutions in Germany, Denmark, Turkey, Israel, and Japan. Oren’s recent work examines the sociological decline of American IR theory and the role of professional schools in bridging academic and policy worlds.
