Ida Maria Bonnevie is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning within Aalborg University's Technical Faculty of IT and Design. Her research focuses on geodata management, spatial decision support systems, and marine/coastal spatial planning, particularly in the Baltic Sea region. She contributes to EU policy frameworks like the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and the Water Framework Directive, aligning with SDGs #14 (Life Below Water) and #15 (Life on Land).
Her work emphasizes tools like SEANERGY for analyzing cross-sectoral synergies/conflicts in maritime planning. Key projects include the SEADITO and AquaINFRA initiatives, focusing on digital twin oceans and socio-ecological data integration. She has published over 28 articles since 2014, with recent work on dasymetric algorithms and stakeholder engagement in spatial planning. Bonnevie actively collaborates with international teams and participates in workshops/seminars to advance spatial science and policy.
