Lise Schrøder

Lise Schrøder is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sustainability and Planning at Aalborg University’s Technical Faculty of IT and Design. She is affiliated with the Geoinformatics & Earth Observation group and the Danish Centre for Spatial Planning, as well as BLUE – Marine & Maritime Research. Her research is centered on marine and maritime spatial planning, geoinformatics, ecosystem services, and digital governance.

Her research interests include marine spatial planning (MSP), ecosystem-based approaches, cumulative impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, and digital governance in the Nordic region. She applies geoinformatics and earth observation to support sustainable planning and climate adaptation, with a geographical focus on the Baltic Sea region.

The recent publications highlight a strong trend in developing and applying spatial decision-support tools for maritime planning, integrating ecosystem services, stakeholder perceptions, and cumulative impacts. Her work spans environmental science, policy, and geospatial technology, often in interdisciplinary and international collaborations.
