Dr. Ibrahim El Saliby is a Research Fellow at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Technology Sydney, currently serving as the ARC NiCE Hub Coordinator since 2022. His expertise spans nutrient recycling, wastewater treatment, and nanotechnology applications in environmental engineering.
Education
- PhD in Environmental Engineering (UTS, 2012)
- MSc in Plant Sciences (American University of Beirut, 2000–2022)
- Diploma of Agricultural Engineering (Lebanese University, 1995–2000)
Research Interests focus on sustainable water systems, including urine-derived fertilizers, photocatalytic degradation of pollutants, and membrane technologies for nutrient recovery. His work bridges environmental engineering and agricultural innovation, aligning with UN SDGs like Clean Water and Sustainable Cities.
Key Publications include studies on anthroponic systems, PAC-MBR hybrid processes, and photocatalytic nanomaterials, demonstrating his contributions to water reuse and environmental sustainability. He has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed journals and 2 book chapters.
Grants include funding from the ARC Research Hub for Nutrients in a Circular Economy (NiCE) (2022–2026), supporting his work on integrating nutrient recovery with horticultural applications.
