Ibrahim Albayati is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University’s School of Engineering & Physical Sciences, serving as Director of the International Electrical and Electronic Systems Programme in partnership with Zhubanov University. Previously, he held roles as Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the University of Lincoln, leading postgraduate programs and industrial projects. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD, with professional certifications including Chartered Engineer (CEng), Member of the IET (MIET), and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
His research focuses on Electrical and Control Engineering, emphasizing renewable energy systems, power systems modeling, fuel cells, grid stability, and AI-driven smart grid solutions. He also explores thermal management in electronics via heat sink optimization and nanocoatings. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in clean energy and industrial efficiency.
Ibrahim actively advises PhD students and bridges academia-industry gaps through projects in power systems, refrigeration, and unmanned systems. He contributes to advancing thermal engineering, energy conversion, and logistics optimization through multi-agent systems research.
