Dr. Ibrahim Ab Aziz is a Senior Lecturer in Family Medicine at the Clinical School Johor Bahru, Monash University Malaysia, affiliated with the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He joined the institution in June 2009 as a fractional lecturer and holds expertise in palliative care, medical education, and hospice services. His career includes roles with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (1986-1994), private practice (1994 onward), and extensive clinical experience in outpatient and inpatient hospice care.
- Education: Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (University of Dhaka, 1985), Diploma in Clinical Counselling (Institute of Counselling, Glasgow, 1998), Master of Medicine and Postgraduate Diploma in Palliative Care (Edith Cowan University, 2005).
Dr. Ab Aziz specializes in palliative medicine, focusing on terminal illness management and cancer care. He actively teaches medical students and hospice volunteers, emphasizing compassionate care practices. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly improving health equity and quality of life.
He provides palliative home care and collaborates with affiliated nursing homes, contributing to the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network.
