Iben Have Beck is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), affiliated with the Institute for Health Services Research and the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Environmental Medicine. Her research focuses on environmental toxicology, especially the effects of PFAS and other chemical exposures on child neurodevelopment and health outcomes.

Her recent work has explored how prenatal and early-life exposure to PFAS and other chemicals like chlorpyrifos and pyrethroids are associated with cognitive performance, adiposity markers, and immune responses in children. These studies are part of the Odense Child Cohort, a large-scale longitudinal birth cohort.
Teaching and Supervision: Iben contributes to teaching in medicine and clinical biomechanics, including course design and examination responsibilities.
Public Engagement: She has been featured in Danish media discussing the risks of PFAS exposure in children and its impact on intelligence and development.
