Dr. Ian Tyndall is a Reader in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Chichester’s Department of Psychology within the Institute of Education, Health, and Social Sciences. He holds editorial roles at The Psychological Record and Frontiers in Psychology, and has organized conferences including the Chichester Coaching Psychology Conference. His research spans cognitive processes, behavior analysis, clinical psychology (e.g., psychological flexibility, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), social psychology (ostracism, social exclusion), and health psychology (sexual health interventions, dementia care technologies).
Education: BA Psychology (National University of Ireland, Galway), PhD in Psychology (NUI Galway).
Research interests include derived relational responding, SMART training for cognitive enhancement, and the application of Relational Frame Theory to clinical and educational settings. He has supervised multiple PhD students and co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles. Administrative roles include Examinations Officer, Employability Officer, and Study Abroad coordinator.
