Dr. Ian Schreibman is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine and a member of the Penn State Cancer Institute. As a transplant hepatologist, he specializes in liver disease care, including liver transplantation. His research focuses on HIV and liver transplants, viral hepatitis, and cirrhosis complications. He has held leadership roles in medical education, including former director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship program at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Schreibman’s research spans topics such as opioid growth factor in hepatocellular cancer, multidisciplinary clinic models for metabolic and liver health, and the role of aerobic exercise in liver fibroinflammation. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being. He holds prestigious fellowships from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American College of Gastroenterology, and others.
