Elizabeth Stonesifer

Elizabeth Stonesifer, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine and serves as Assistant Program Director for the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship. She is employed by Penn State Health Gastroenterology and maintains clinical practice at multiple Penn State Health facilities including the Endoscopy Center, Medicine Department, and Surgery Specialties locations in Hershey, PA.

Dr. Stonesifer's research focuses on critical areas of hepatology including liver transplantation, alcoholic hepatitis, liver decompensation, and metabolic associated steatotic liver disease (MASH). Her work addresses clinical challenges in managing patients with advanced liver disease, particularly those requiring transplantation or dealing with complications of cirrhosis.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on clinical outcomes in liver disease, with particular attention to how liver function status impacts treatment efficacy.
