Ian Mudway is a Research Professor at King's College London, specializing in environmental health and air pollution's impact on human health. He has led numerous research projects funded by organizations like the Medical Research Council and European Commission. His work focuses on air pollution's effects on respiratory health, oxidative stress, and policy interventions like low emission zones. Mudway holds a PhD from the United Medical and Dental Schools (UMDS, now part of King's College) and a BSc from the University of Hertfordshire.
Research interests include transcriptomic analysis of lung responses to pollutants, time series of PM10 oxidative potential, and the Low Emission Zone's impact on children's health in London. He has contributed to over 150 publications and 21 research projects. Mudway actively engages in public outreach, including school-based initiatives in Tower Hamlets and Hackney.
