Ian Lim is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Information Technology, Monash University Malaysia since 2015. He serves as student experience coordinator and has received prestigious teaching awards including the 2020 PVC Awards for Outstanding Educator and 2019 Faculty Teaching Excellence Award. His expertise spans Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning, with a focus on User-Generated Content (UGC) platforms and Graph Algorithms for route optimization.
Education: PhD in Computer Science (2010-2018) and Bachelor of Computer Science (2007-2009) from Monash University Malaysia.
Research interests include enhancing information quality on UGC platforms, fake news detection, and knowledge graph development. Recent work involves AI-driven networked systems and healthcare analytics for medication error prediction.
Key projects include leading the Fake News Detection initiative (2021-2025) and contributing to context-aware conversational text analysis (2022-2025). His articles address topics like cryptocurrency price prediction using sentiment analysis and IoT data caching strategies.
